Get the Glow – Breathe

The June 2013 issue of Yoga Journal has an article on  recommendations by dermatologists  for healthy skin that are easy and inexpensive to do at home. One of the recommendations is to breathe just like we do during yoga practice, i.e. taking slow, deep breaths. According to Jeannette Graf, a dermatologist in New York, deep exhalations clear stale carbon dioxide from the lungs so more oxygen is drawn in on inhalation. This has an alkalinizing effect that promotes the growth of healthy skin cells.

And, that’s just one more benefit of focusing on our breath during our practices.
